The last few months have been a challenging time for our programme but our coaches have come together and have been delivering online activities through our Facebook page as well as other telephone coaching sessions. We have seen our participants engage with art activities, language lessons, cooking sessions, online gaming as well as trying new hobbies such as photography and exploring nature in the areas in which they live. Supporting the mental health of our participants has been crucial during this time with many young people reflecting that they felt less isolated as they chose to engage with online activities.
We have also been able to move things forward with our service as the guidelines have changed, delivering cooking sessions to participants at their home addresses (following government guidelines of course!). These sessions have been extremely popular and have helped participants to try out recipes for many varied dishes from Chicken Paprikash to Irish Stew. Our resident chef has been creating instructional videos which have been uploaded to Facebook and then our participants have expressed an interest through their coaches before being added to our Chef’s round of deliveries! As you can see from the picture the ingredients are all weighed out before being delivered.
